By-laws are Updated

At the July 15th club meeting a rousing discussion took place as the bylaws of the club were taken apart piece by piece and given the once over. After some additions and corrections, The vote was taken and passed to approve the updated version of our bylaws. Some of the important new changes are a) membership totals were changed from 50 to 65 maximum members, b) a mission statement was added to the bylaws, c) the no contest statement was removed, and d) the way the expulsion from the club was written was shortened. Most all the members attending seemed pleased with the new bylaws.

Great Senior Fly Day

Thanks to Scott Campbell and the club members who worked so hard to treat our senior citizens to a really fun afternoon. Brian Jacobs brought some beautiful antique models and flew them expertly. Larry Linde did a spectacular job with aerobatics as did all the other pilots who partook in the fun. Joe and Pat Goffin and others provided cookies and beverages and tents were provided for shade. All in all it was a huge success. Pictures are on the website for all to see.

Congratulations

We just got word that Shane Cooper has been hired to fly Jet Ranger helicopters out to the oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico. He trained hard and received his instrument ticket along with lots of other requirements before going to Texas for training. Congratulations Shane, we will miss your great flying antics and expertise. Good luck to you and your family in the future.

Fun-Fly and Swap-meet Coming

Our very first annual fun-fly and swap meet is this Saturday. We have planned lots of fun events, and will have a trainer and buddy box for newbys to fly and test their skills. Bring the family and something to sell and also something to toss into Joe’s Hobo Stew. Come early to get all the good stuff. A flyer has been sent to all the members on the web. Both ERMA and Skagit clubs have been invited too. Hope for a great turnout. PLEASE call Ron Holmwall or reply to his e mail if you are coming so we can get a count for the stew. See ya there…

The Website has been Up-dated

Ron and Vance have updated the website with lots of neat stuff. A picture gallery, classified ad section and a “Members Only section with access by password is in the works. Our membership roster, by-laws, and club meeting minutes will be in that section for privacy. The password will be Eagles. I suggest you put it in your “Favorites” listing and check it often. Things will be added frequently and your picture may appear magically. Keep smiling…

Need Two Directors

One of the new updates to the by-laws is to add two directors to the board of directors. If you are interested in volunteering for this position I urge you to call or e mail one of the board members right away so we can put your nomination up for vote at the next meeting. The board meets as necessary at someone’s house and is dedicated to keeping the club a fun and safe organization. Also we need a volunteer to start a youth section and education program. It is the only way we can be sure our club will remain viable far into the future.
